April,2006 at the U.S in California.
「桑港桜」車は桑港ハイウェイを走っている。
早々サンフランシスコ太鼓道場に寄る。昼食後S.F.日本町へ向かう。
S.F.空港への厳かな出迎え、車中左座席でハンドルを握る人物。
「太鼓（Taiko）」を確固たる芸術固有名詞として全米に確立浸透させた御大。
"米国政府指定重要無形文化財保持者"ゴッドファーザー北米和太鼓、 組太鼓祖師、全米太鼓連盟会長、S.F.太鼓道場総長。
2006年S.F.日本町が100周年を迎えたという。ここサンフランシスコに日本町が 出来100年という記念すべき大きな節目の年、北加桜祭には多くの日系人2世、3世が顔を連ねた。 そして、世界的邦楽シンセサイザー奏者、喜多郎さんも参列されている。何を感じているのだろうか。 この場に田中先生、喜多郎さんと同席している事が不思議に感ずる。そして、何気なく普通に会話させて頂いている自分がここに居る。
S.F.太鼓道場メンバー構成10カ国以上の多民族総勢60名が日本太鼓に鼓舞する光景。そんな中、 私も一員として同じ舞台に立っている。魂が飛び交う、飛龍の如く。体の奥からにじみ出る”気”。やはり本心、 気持ちは執念の深さを物語る。心を掴み奮い立たせる神道芸術日本鼓道とアメリカ田中式イズムのフュージョン。 一言パワフル且つダイナミック。やはり、執念の深さは師を思う気持ちか。その執着はとても厳格だ。
我を非として当う者は吾が師なり”田中先生”、師小口大八宗家との長幼序の道は尊貴。今回、米NBC11、 TVへの出演含めこの機会を与えて頂いた事に心より敬意を表し感謝したい。

100th Anniversary of San Francisco Japantown to 1906-2006.
The year 2006 is San Francisco's Japantown 100th anniversary of being in its current location. San Francisco's Japantown is the oldest Japanese community in the continental U.S. Only three Japantowns remain in California with the other two being in Los Angeles and San Jose.The History of San Francisco's Japantown is beginning 1906.

He is the Chairman of the American Taiko Federation.
He was recognized by the National Endowment for the Arts and received the 2001 National Heritage Fellowship (N.H.F) from President Bush this most highly coveted award is widely recognized as one of American's highest honors in folk and traditional arts.
He has also been recognized by the Japanese Minister of Foreign Affairs and received the Foreign Minister's Commendation this year.
In addition, Grand Master Tanaka and San Francisco Taiko Dojo has been featured in four major motion picture movies-Phillip Kaufman's "The right Stuff", and "Rising Sun" starring Sean Connery and Wesley Snipes, George Lucas "Return of the Jedi", and Francis Ford Coppola's "Apocalypse Now".
KITARO(喜多郎) world-renowned composer and multi-instrumentalist.
Kitaro won a 1994 Golden Globe Award for Best Original Score in Oliver Stone's "Heaven and Earth" and 2001 Grammy Award for his album "Thinking of you" The 12-times Grammy-nominated artist is respected for his ability to merge the finest of Eastern and Western cultures and traditions in his New Age music.
The 2006 Northern California's Cherry Blossom Festival which part of this year's 100th Anniversary of Japantown's Peace Plaza.
